Ceramicist Alex Marshall began making handmade tableware as gifts for friends and family in 2000, and word of mouth turned it into a studio. Today, from her workshop in Chico, California, she and her team shape, glaze and fire every piece by hand. Her vases, bowls and platters have soft, asymmetrical forms and nature-inspired glazes, from deep oxblood to calming aqua, and each one has its own subtle variations.
